Music

We are promoters of Village Ventures in Nottinghamshire, which is now run by Live and Local, who organise professional touring bands and musicians to perform in Village Halls. Typically we put on one or two per year and in our 15years + experience we have always been delighted. We also organise gigs with local bands.

Kit Holmes with Al Greenwood in Concert

Kit Holmes’ trademark sultry vocals and virtuoso guitar playing have wowed audiences across the UK through extensive touring with John Etheridge and John Renbourn. Both Bob Harris and Andy Kershaw have featured her on their BBC shows, and her recent concerts include: the Anne Frank Awards at the BBC, Paul McCartney’s LIPA, a performance for Bill Bryson and a headline show at the International Guitar Festival.

Expect an enthralling and energetic live performance of hook laden guitar work straddling the borders between folk and blues and pop, with gorgeous and poignant lyrical songs, absolutely delightful instrumentals and an incredible sense of fun.

‘Kit Holmes is that welcome curiosity, a young composer and singer-songwriter with all the makings of a new British guitar heroine and a style that skips cheerfully across boundaries. She mostly plays acoustic guitar but she’s certainly no folk singer; her songs are far too pop-influenced. But then she’s certainly not a pop artist either, hence her ability to suddenly switch to instrumental pieces that echo anything from folk baroque to flamenco and jazz – after all, she has toured extensively with John Etheridge. Impressive.’ The Guardian

‘Blues-driven roots with a soul sensibility… full of warmth… an absolute delight.’ The Observer
★★★★ ‘Impossible to pigeonhole… Kit’s immense talent and joie de vivre, emanates from everything she does.’ R2 Magazine
