Agnes Varda, who died at the age of 90 in March 2019, was a founder of the 
French New Wave. This final 2017 collaboration, with the young photographer JR, is a sublime celebration of people in unnamed communities, with massive printed portraits pasted in unlikely places. Magnificently moving, funny and life-affirming.
